Promasidor Ghana, through its brands Cowbell and Twisco Chocolate Drink, commemorated the 2024 World Milk Day by providing 100,000 servings of complete breakfast to students from various basic schools across the country.
The event, held under the theme “Let’s Celebrate Nutritious and Sustainable Dairy,” aligns with the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals, specifically goals 2, 3, and 4, which focus on zero hunger, good health and well-being, and quality education.
World Milk Day was established by the Food and Agriculture Organization in 2001 to recognize the importance of milk as a global food and has been observed annually on June 1st since then. Speaking at the school outreach, Promasidor Ghana’s Marketing Manager, Michael Hagan, reiterated the company’s commitment to providing quality food products for the past 25 years.
He noted that Cowbell, the flagship brand, was introduced to provide nutritious milk products to Ghanaians and help address malnutrition in the country. Hagan emphasized that treating children to quality breakfast demonstrates the brand’s commitment to the wellbeing of Ghanaians, especially children.
He added that Cowbell will continue to prioritize consumers and invest in innovation to provide quality dairy products that meet the nutritional needs of Ghanaians. School heads visited during the outreach expressed gratitude for Cowbell’s investment in the development and nutritional needs of students over the years.
Since 2020, Cowbell has partnered with the 37 Military Hospital to improve nutrition in deprived communities through nutrition assessment programs, health screenings, education on good feeding practices, and product donations.
This year’s World Milk Day celebration reinforces Cowbell’s dedication to providing nutritious and sustainable dairy products for the benefit of Ghanaian communities.
