A group of youth in the Sefwi Akontombra constituency is demanding the arrest of Pius Kwame Nkuah, the parliamentary candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), following accusations of orchestrating the vandalism of the Akontombra Electoral Commission office.

According to a statement released by Kwame Bennie Romeo, the group alleges that Nkuah, along with a group of thugs, stormed the EC office wielding weapons, including guns and cutlasses.

They reportedly targeted citizens involved in lawful electoral processes, such as vote transfers, and intimidated leaders of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) within the constituency.

The statement condemns such acts of violence and intimidation, stressing the importance of maintaining peace and upholding electoral laws in a democratic society.

It urges law enforcement agencies to swiftly apprehend those responsible for the breach of peace and electoral integrity.

Furthermore, the statement calls on all stakeholders, including political parties, civil society organizations, and the general public, to denounce violence and uphold democratic principles and the rule of law.

As of now, the NDC in the constituency has not issued any official statement regarding the incident.
