Taking a proactive stance against the proliferation of unauthorized enhancement products, the Asante Akyem North Health Directorate, in collaboration with the Municipal Assembly, recently eradicated more than 1,000 unapproved items designed for penis and buttock enlargement in Asante Akyem Agogo.
This decisive measure is a crucial component of a comprehensive strategy to combat the illicit distribution of such substances and safeguard public welfare.
Roland Miah, the Municipal Health Director, emphasized the necessity of this action during an interview.
He disclosed that the confiscated merchandise included an array of body enhancement items, Viagra, and assorted concoctions, frequently misused, particularly by the youth, with detrimental consequences.
Highlighting the broader objective, Miah underscored the operation’s focus on upholding regulations prohibiting illicit drugs, herbal remedies, cosmetics, medical equipment, and household chemicals.
In a concerted effort to discourage the utilization of these hazardous products, Miah urged the populace, especially young individuals, to refrain from their consumption, citing severe adverse effects.
Francis Oti Boateng, the Municipal Chief Executive, affirmed the sustained nature of this endeavor, clarifying that it forms part of an ongoing campaign.
He pledged consistent monitoring by a dedicated task force to ensure compliance with regulations and vowed to pursue legal action against individuals involved in the illicit trade of drugs.
