10 Land Guards Arrested In Asabaham As Police Seize Deadly Weapons
The Central East Regional Police Command has apprehended 10 land guards and retrieved dangerous weapons in Asabaham, Ga South Municipality.
The accused, all from Atoma, include Ali Razak, Mohammed Salis, Mohammed Amin, Yussif Yakubu, Manam Mubarak, Habib Abdullai, Samuel Ametrona, Abdul Madid Adam, Iddrissu Yakubu, Nii Attoh Emmanuel, and Isaac Boadu.
According to the Police, Morton City Real Estate, the legitimate owner of 49.640 acres of land in Asabaham, reported that unknown men had been attacking their clients, seizing tools, and demanding money.
On June 6, 2024, the Police arrested the suspects, finding cutlasses, axes, and a Toyota 4Runner (GW 4420-X). Investigations revealed that the suspects had been intimidating workers, forcing them to leave construction sites.
Benjamin Awuzu, the landowner, praised the Police for their swift action, revealing that the land guards had even attacked a pregnant woman who refused to pay them.
The accused are in Police custody, and the investigation is ongoing.
