The Forestry Commission is taking a tough stance against illegal miners, known as “galamseyers,” in Sekyere Kumawu.

Mr. Yabepone expressed concern that illegal mining and tree felling have encroached on forest reserves, jeopardizing environmental sustainability.

He urged the miners to cease operations to safeguard the forest ecosystem.

The Forestry Commission is prepared to clamp down on all illegal miners and pursue legal action against them.

Mr. Yabepone further encouraged public participation in the Green Ghana initiative, a tree-planting program aimed at environmental conservation.

He emphasized the need for collective efforts to protect the environment and ensure the success of reforestation projects.
