A fatal accident on the Bolgatanga-Tamale Road has claimed the life of General Sergeant Bismark Frempah, 38, an outrider attached to former President John Agyekum Kufour.
According to a police brief, the deceased was riding a police motorbike with registration number AS 8297 22 when he crashed into a Toyota Sienta vehicle with registration number AS 5979 21 near Gbimsi Village, Savelugu.
The accident occurred on May 30, 2024, at approximately 4:45 pm. The police report states that the outrider died instantly, while the driver of the Toyota Sienta, Francis Baba, 34, and his five passengers escaped unhurt.
A team of police officers led by ASP/Mr. W Fuseini responded to the scene and conveyed the body of the deceased outrider to the Tamale Teaching Hospital, where he was confirmed dead by Dr. Mohammed Wumpini. The body has been deposited at the hospital’s morgue for preservation and autopsy.
The suspect driver, Francis Baba, is currently in police custody to assist with investigations, while the accident vehicles have been impounded for further investigation.
“The outrider was riding from Bolgatanga towards Tamale direction when the crash occurred,” the police brief stated. “The suspect driver and occupants escaped unhurt, but the outrider died instantly.”
