In Assin Central, members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have resorted to invoking curses on key figures, including Electoral Commission (EC) officials and New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidate Godfred Nti Anewu.
Their accusations stem from allegations that Anewu orchestrated the transportation of individuals from Kasoa to transfer their votes into the Assin Central Constituency.
In a display of anger and desperation, NDC members performed ritual sacrifices, slaughtering sheep to invoke the wrath of river deities, Antoa Nyama and Betinsin, against anyone involved in potential election rigging within the Assin Central Constituency.
Leading the ritual was the NDC Women’s Organizer of Assin Central, who spearheaded the invocation of these feared spiritual forces specifically targeting the NPP candidate.
Echoing the sentiment, Assin Central NDC Communications Officer, Abdoni Emmanuel, sternly warned the NPP leadership against any attempts to bus foreigners into Assin Central to influence the election, threatening severe consequences if such actions persisted.
Despite the gravity of the situation, officials from the Assin Central Electoral Commission have chosen to remain silent on the matter.
Meanwhile, Godfred Nti Anewu, the embattled NPP candidate, maintains his innocence, dismissing the curses cast by the NDC as ineffective.
