The Washington Commanders released kicker Brandon McManus on Sunday after two women filed a lawsuit against him alleging sexual assault.
Lawsuit Details
The lawsuit, filed in civil court, accuses McManus of inappropriate behavior towards two flight attendants on a Jacksonville Jaguars’ flight to London last September.
The women allege that McManus attempted to kiss one of them and made unwanted physical contact with both while they were working. They are seeking damages exceeding $1 million.
McManus Denies Allegations
Efforts to reach McManus for comment were unsuccessful. However, his attorney, Brett R. Gallaway, vehemently denied the allegations, calling them “absolutely fictitious and demonstrably false.”
Prior to Release
McManus, 32, signed with the Commanders in March after playing his tenth NFL season with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Both the Commanders and the Jaguars had previously stated they were investigating the situation.
