Stonebwoy Advocates for 2019 Ghana Music Awards Artiste of the Year Title

Reggae Dancehall star Stonebwoy, during his acceptance speech at the 25th Telecel Ghana Music Awards, urged Charterhouse, the event organizers, to officially recognize him as the winner of the 2019 Artiste of the Year award.

Stonebwoy, clinching the Artiste of the Year accolade for the second time, expressed his conviction that he should have received the honor in 2019.

He cited the unfortunate incident that prematurely ended the concert, involving a scuffle between himself and Shatta Wale, as the reason for the award’s omission that year.

Asserting his claim to the title, Stonebwoy emphasized his desire for Charterhouse to rectify the situation, affirming his belief that he earned the award not only in 2019 but also in 2024.

Stonebwoy’s triumph at the awards ceremony extended beyond the prestigious Artiste of the Year recognition.

He seized five additional awards, including International Collaboration of the Year, Songwriter of the Year, Reggae Dancehall Artiste of the Year, Record of the Year, and Album/EP of the Year.

Acknowledging the support of his loved ones and fans, Stonebwoy expressed gratitude for the blessings bestowed upon him and conveyed appreciation to his fellow nominees for their contributions to the music industry.
