Former President and National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring a peaceful electoral process in the upcoming December polls.
Speaking at the funeral of the late John Tia Akologo in the Upper East Region, Mahama emphasized that any violence would not originate from the NDC.
He urged clergy to advocate not only for peace but also for justice, underscoring its vital role in fostering peaceful elections.
Mahama asserted that while the NDC anticipates a peaceful election due to its confidence in winning, it remains steadfast against any attempts to tamper with the electoral process.
“We stand for peace, but we will oppose any efforts to manipulate this election. I assure the clergy that we will contribute to fostering a free, fair, and transparent election. We trust in divine intervention to navigate our nation out of the current challenges,” Mahama declared.
