The Deputy Chairman of Operations at the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), Samuel Asare Akuamoah, has encouraged Ghanaians to resist any attempts at vote buying as elections approach.

Speaking at the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) as part of Constitution Week Celebration, he emphasized the importance of fulfilling civic duties without succumbing to financial inducements.

He explained that the practice of vote buying undermines the accountability of elected officials and citizens’ ability to demand better services.

Mr. Akuamoah urged communities to collaborate with the NCCE to prevent vote selling and promote civic responsibility.

He also addressed the threat of extremism in the region, warning that criminal gangs and extremist groups often exploit state weaknesses and promise false benefits to gain support.
