CCC Holds Annual Blood Drive To Support KATH Blood Bank

Calvary Charismatic Church (CCC) in Kumasi once again stepped up to support the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) Blood Bank with its annual blood donation drive.

This year’s event, held last Saturday, marked the eighth consecutive year the church has organized this initiative.

Coinciding with the upcoming 68th birthday of Reverend Ransford Obeng, CCC’s General Overseer, the drive saw a larger turnout than usual, likely due to other church activities happening on campus. Members patiently awaited their turn to donate while being screened by the KATH medical team.

Motivated by Helping Others:

Reverend Obeng explained to the media that he decided to use his birthdays for charitable endeavors since turning 60.

He expressed his satisfaction with the impact of these drives, citing positive feedback from KATH about their usefulness. The Reverend also expressed his deep appreciation to church members for embracing his vision for eight years.

Highlighting the Need for Continued Support:

“Without the commitment of church members, this wouldn’t be possible,” Reverend Obeng stated. He urged other churches and institutions to follow suit, emphasizing the KATH Blood Bank’s constant need for replenishment, with a daily requirement of 80 pints.

Gratitude from KATH Blood Bank:

Dr. Leslie Owusu, Head of the KATH Blood Transfusion Unit, expressed her sincere gratitude to CCC for their consistent blood donations.

These contributions, she explained, are crucial for handling emergencies and procedures requiring blood transfusions.

Dr. Owusu echoed Reverend Obeng’s call to action, urging other institutions and organizations to emulate CCC’s dedication and support the KATH Blood Bank through regular donations.
