The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Commission has demonstrated its commitment to supporting human capital development and social inclusion by donating provisions and stationery to the Dzorwulu Special School in Accra. The donation, which was made as part of this year’s ECOWAS Day celebration, includes a wide range of essential items such as rice, salt, gari, sugar, sachet water, cooking oil, canned fish, beverages, soap, matches, toothpaste, toilet rolls, sanitary pads, books, pencils, pens, eraser, sharpeners, and other items.
The ECOWAS Resident Representative, Baba Gana Wakil, presented the items to the school on Wednesday, emphasizing the importance of supporting special schools as part of the government’s efforts in human capital development. He noted that the donation aligns with ECOWAS’s social inclusion agenda, which aims to support young people with special needs.
Mr. Wakil expressed his delight at the opportunity to identify with and support the young people who are the focus of the 49th ECOWAS Day celebration.
