The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has declared that the upcoming training session of the Black Stars on Friday will welcome both media representatives and fans, signaling a departure from their previous closed-door practices.
Scheduled to commence at 4:30 pm, this training session marks a crucial phase in the team’s preparations for the upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifier matches against Mali and Central African Republic.
Set to be stationed in Accra for a span of five days, the team is slated to depart for Bamako on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, in readiness for their inaugural match against Mali scheduled for June 6.
Subsequently, four days later, Ghana will play host to the Central African Republic at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.
With a less-than-ideal start to their World Cup qualifying journey, the Black Stars are determined to regain momentum and secure victories after clinching only one win and enduring one loss in their initial two matches in Group I.
Ghana initiated the campaign with a narrow 1-0 victory over Madagascar in Kumasi before succumbing to a similar margin of defeat against Comoros in Moroni.
However, the Black Stars are currently grappling with form issues as they enter these crucial encounters, having experienced a winless streak throughout 2024, marked by two losses and three draws.
Their disappointing performance in the Africa Cup of Nations led to an early exit in the group stage, followed by further setbacks in March’s international friendlies against Nigeria and Uganda, held in Morocco.
