In the midst of the ongoing ambulance purchase case, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has called upon the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to refrain from any actions that might compromise the integrity of Ghana’s legal system.
The NPP emphasized that Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, Minority Leader, should be permitted to undergo the legal proceedings without interference.
This plea comes in light of the emergence of an alleged 16-minute recording purportedly featuring a conversation between the Attorney General and Richard Jakpa, the third accused in the case.
During a press briefing on Tuesday, May 28, Frank Davies, Director of Legal Affairs for the NPP, urged the NDC to have faith in the judicial system.
Davies emphasized, “If the NDC and Ato Forson firmly believe that his actions did not result in any loss to the state, then they should demonstrate their trust in our legal system and refrain from orchestrating malicious attempts to undermine our courts. They should simply remain silent and allow the court proceedings to continue without interference.”
