“King Promise Deserves Artist of the Year, or the Awards are Rigged” – Efia Odo

The 25th Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMAs) is just around the corner, and the debate over who deserves the coveted Artist of the Year award has reached a fever pitch. Social media is abuzz with fans and industry insiders weighing in on the merits of top contenders Stonebwoy and King Promise.

Socialite Efia Odo has thrown her support behind King Promise, citing his chart-topping success and global reach. “If King Promise doesn’t win Artist of the Year, then the award show is fuxkn rigged. He’s put in too much work to go unnoticed,” she wrote. “Nothing against Stonebwoy, no disrespect to him, but he hasn’t achieved what Promise has this year. He had the number 1 song in Africa with ‘Terminator!!!'”

Efia Odo argued that King Promise’s impact and success this year make him the most deserving of the top accolade, if the awards are to be truly merit-based.

King Promise has earned three nominations for this year’s TGMA, including Artiste of the Year, International Collaboration of the Year, and Most Popular Song of the Year. His recent successful Asian tour, which included sold-out shows in Jakarta, Bali, and Singapore, has cemented his status as a global superstar.

The TGMA awards night is slated for June 1, 2024, at the AICC. The outcome of the Artist of the Year award remains to be seen, but one thing is certain – King Promise has made an indelible mark on the music industry this year, and his fans are rooting for him all the way.
