Lilwin Faces Calls for Arrest Over 3-Year-Old Boy’s Death During the Accident
A tragic head-on collision involving actor Kojo Nkansah, popularly known as Lilwin, has sparked outrage and demands for accountability. The Accident Victim Support Ghana, an advocacy group for accident victims’ rights, is leading the charge for Lilwin’s arrest and investigation.
Rev. Cyril Crabbe, President of Accident Victim Support Ghana, expressed frustration over the actor’s freedom, stating, “He should have been arrested by now… He should have been detained. He should not have been released.” Crabbe emphasized the need for accountability, citing the severity of the accident and the actor’s role in it.
The accident claimed the life of three-year-old Emmanuel Richard Ampomah, and Lilwin’s response has been criticized for lacking empathy. Rev. Crabbe noted, “The next step is to visit the deceased family… There would have been some empathy, but you can see till date, and he is out there still talking.”
The group also expressed concern over the increasing recklessness of celebrities on the roads and the police’s inability to enforce road traffic laws equally. “We see too much on their side, and the police must not see their popularity as they are above the law on our roads. They must be put to order.”
The family of the deceased has also expressed outrage over Lilwin’s posture and management’s insensitive treatment. Kofi Aboagye, the senior brother of the deceased’s father, stated, “We are yet to write a police statement on it. We have not concluded on the criminality of it, meanwhile Lil Win and his management have shown utter indifference towards us.”
