Ghanaian celebrity Kwadwo Nkansah, popularly known as Lil Win, has dismissed accusations of neglect leveled against him by the family of the late 3-year-old Richmond Tawiah Ampomah, describing them as “unwarranted”.
The actor’s response comes after a tragic accident involving his team and a 3-year-old boy, who lost his life, prior to the premiere of his movie “A Country Called Ghana” in Kumasi. The incident has sparked widespread condemnation, with many attributing the boy’s death to Lil Win’s alleged overspeeding and disregard for traffic regulations.
In a statement shared on his Instagram page, Lil Win expressed sadness over the loss of the young boy, but denied neglecting the family. He explained that some of his crew members also sustained injuries in the accident and required immediate attention to secure their lives.
According to Lil Win, “The accusations of neglect by the family of the late 3-year-old boy are unwarranted. We had to prioritize the lives of our injured crew members, but that doesn’t mean we disregarded the family’s loss.”
The incident has sparked a heated debate, with many calling for greater responsibility from celebrities and drivers on the road.
