Over 4,000 Hajj Pilgrims Set to Depart for Mecca Today

The inaugural contingent of pilgrims for the 2024 Hajj is poised to commence their journey from the Tamale International Airport to the sacred destination of Mecca in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday, May 28.

With an anticipated participation of over 4,000 individuals in this year’s Hajj, Abdul-Rahman Gomda, the Communications Director for the Hajj Board, emphasized the importance of cooperation among pilgrims to ensure a seamless experience.

Gomda stressed the significance of adherence to guidance provided by the organizers, underscoring the spiritual significance of the pilgrimage.

He highlighted the role of the Dawah committee, comprising Islamic scholars, many of whom have studied in Saudi Arabia, in guiding pilgrims through the various stages of the pilgrimage, including recitals, spiritual practices, and adherence to religious protocols.
