The Planning Committee for Asantehene’s Silver Jubilee Celebrations has observed that events that characterized the anniversary witnessed high level of compliance to all rules and regulations that were set to ensure order and sanity.
At a press briefing on Monday, May 27, 2024, the Committee said all bans instituted including that on tricycles and politics were received with reverence.
Addressing the press, the Chairman of the Committee who is also the Paramount Chief of the Juaben Traditional Council, Nana Otuo Siriboe II said, “The ban on tricycles was duly observed. We didn’t see these vehicles around. In the same spirit, party colours came nowhere close to the Palace. This goes as a testament to the reverence you have for the King and it is most appreciated.”

Outlining the programmes that characterized the whole event, Nana Juabenhene said the media did the yeoman’s job by effectively propagating and taking the events to all corners of the world.
“At the beginning of 2024, we called you the media to tell you about the three anniversaries including the 150th Anniversary of the Sagrenti War, Otumfuo’s Silver Jubilee and the Centenary of the return of Prempeh I. The media has been very helpful throughout.
“We have drawn the curtain on major aspects of these anniversaries and we are here to reflect and thank stakeholders for the various ways they helped. The media worked as they had to.”
Appreciation
He expressed his in-depth appreciation to all stakeholders for the various roles they played in making the events successful.
“On behalf of Otumfuo, the Committee and Asanteman, I say thank you to everyone for the assistance and dedication. To Nananom, the police, doctors and all others. Those of you who supported with substance and in kind, we recognize it and appreciates it.”

Asanteman now looks forward to the centenary of Prempeh I’s return from exile.
According to him, a series of events will be held to commemorate the day and in honour of the late King.
