420 Traders Receive GHC1,000 Each from Sekondi MP to Boost Businesses

The Egyapa Care Foundation, a non-profit organization founded by the Member of Parliament for Sekondi and Minister for Tourism and Creative Arts, Lawyer Andrew Egyapa Mercer, has presented cash grants to 420 traders in Sekondi. This generous gesture is part of the MP’s 51st birthday celebration and aims to support the traders in their businesses.

Each of the 420 traders received an amount of GHC1,000 to boost their businesses. This comes as a huge relief to the traders who have been struggling with inadequate capital to support their businesses.

The Egyapa Care Foundation was established in 2020 to assist traders and other groups in the Sekondi constituency. According to Lawyer Andrew Egyapa Mercer, the foundation was set up to provide support to various organizations and individuals who come to him for assistance.

Over the years, the Egyapa Care Foundation has distributed various items such as sewing machines, hair dryers, carpentry tools, mason tools, welding tools, and many others to support the traders in their businesses.

The grant was given out to the traders without any political party affiliation, and any trader who needed support was given the opportunity to receive the grant.

Lawyer Andrew Egyapa Mercer emphasized that the grant was given without any political bias, and he urged all the beneficiaries to make good use of the support given to them. He noted that although the amount may be small, it can do a lot of good if used wisely.

The Queen Mother of the Sekondi Market, Nana Krah, who organized the beneficiaries, thanked the MP for being sensitive to the plight of women in the constituency. She praised the MP for his efforts in supporting the traders and urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the grant.

The presentation of the cash grants was a significant event in the Sekondi constituency, and it demonstrates the MP’s commitment to supporting the traders and businesses in his constituency.
