Former New Patriotic Party (NPP) aspirant for parliament, Hopeson Adorye, has offered a tongue-in-cheek appreciation to the party, the president, and the Chief of Staff following his recent release from custody.

Hopeson Adorye was granted bail of 20,000 Ghana cedis by a Circuit Court on May 23, after being charged with publishing false news.

In his first post-release interview, Hopeson Adorye shared the intricacies of how his legal team secured his bail.

When asked about his bail, Hopeson Adorye confirmed, stating, “Yes, we appeared before the Dansoman Circuit Court. The police sought my remand for further investigations, but the law prevailed through my legal representatives.”

He then went on to express, “President Akufo-Addo, Frema Opare, Chief of Staff, and the NPP party have metaphorically elevated me to a position of honor, and I firmly believe that the ultimate victory lies in the hands of the Divine. That is my message to all Ghanaians,” he emphasized.

Hopeson Adorye’s arrest stems from allegations linking him to detonating explosives in parts of the opposition stronghold of the Volta Region during the 2016 general elections.

He confessed that the operation was a personal endeavor conducted without the knowledge of regional executives.

However, he clarified that the incident occurred in neighboring Togo, asserting that there were no reports of explosions in the Volta Region before or during the 2016 polls.
