PETROSOL Appoints Daniel Acheampong as New Board Chairman

PETROSOL, a leading privately-owned Ghanaian oil marketing company, has announced the appointment of Daniel Acheampong, a seasoned corporate leader and former Chief Executive Officer of Volta Aluminium Company Ltd (VALCO), as its new Board Chairman, effective May 16, 2024.

Mr. Acheampong brings a wealth of experience in strategic leadership, human resource management, and corporate governance to the role. He spent 36 years at VALCO, rising through the ranks to become CEO in 2014, a position he held for nearly a decade. During his tenure, he leveraged his expertise to bring about increased confidence, commitment, and goodwill among major stakeholders towards VALCO’s operations.

Prior to becoming CEO, Mr. Acheampong served as Deputy CEO in charge of Human Resources and Administration, Public, and Legal Affairs, and previously as Director of Human Resources and Administration. He is a Human Resource practitioner by profession, with close to thirty years of contemporary experience in the field of Human Resource Management and Strategic Leadership.

Mr. Acheampong is highly respected in the Ghanaian business community, having served as President of the Ghana Employers’ Association (GEA) from 2018 to 2024 and as President of the Institute of Human Resource Management Practitioners, Ghana (IHRMP) from 2007-2011. He is also a recipient of several high-profile awards, including the Ghana Business Leaders Lifetime Achievement Award and induction into the Corporate Ghana Hall of Fame.
