Afrobeats sensation King Promise has expressed confidence in winning the prestigious Artiste of the Year award at the upcoming Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA).
In an interview on May 13, King Promise stated that he and his team have produced incredible works not only for the year under review but also in previous years. While acknowledging the good works of his competitors in the Artiste of the Year category, he emphasized that his work speaks for itself.
“I feel like everybody who is in there is a worthy competitor, respect for everybody, but I feel like my work speaks for itself. Everyone can tell that we have been putting in a lot of work…I am here to contribute my quota and gladly accept the Artiste of the Year at all costs,” he said.
King Promise also acknowledged the growth of Ghana’s music industry and commended the Ghana Music Awards for recognizing musicians’ hard work every year. He has earned three nominations for this year’s TGMA: Artiste of the Year, International Collaboration of the Year, and Most Popular Song of the Year.
Recently, King Promise proved his global superstar status with a successful Asian tour, representing Ghana with sold-out shows in Jakarta, Bali, and Singapore. He became the first African artist to sell out the Tipsy Unicorn Beach Club in Singapore.
In the past year, King Promise’s chart-topping hit, ‘Terminator,’ catapulted him to greater heights, captivating audiences in Ghana and beyond and significantly boosting his global appeal. The song’s infectious melody and compelling lyrics resonated with listeners, leading to a surge in King Promise’s fanbase.
