A tragic incident unfolded in the serene surroundings of the Bobiri Forest Reserve near Ejisu as a member of the Ashanti Regional Police Headquarters fell victim to a fatal shooting by unidentified perpetrators.
According to report, Sergeant Amoah Moses, from the regional police, met his untimely demise in this remote area.
The unfortunate event was brought to light when officers from the Ejisu District Police, under the leadership of DSP Patrick Okai Kodjoe and ASP Hannah Amoafo, alongside the District Crime Officer and the Ashanti Regional Crime Scene Management Team, led by DSP Francis Nimoh, responded to a distress call.
The call originated from Caleb Adu Agyemang, the Assemblyman of Kubease Electoral Area, reporting the discovery of a deceased male adult on May 14, 2024.
According to Agyemang’s testimony, the victim, clad in a green long-sleeve shirt paired with khaki trousers and black boots, was found lying unconscious in a pool of blood, bearing a gunshot wound on his right leg below the knee. Adjacent to the victim were a single-barrel gun and a machete.
Despite immediate medical attention and transportation to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, the attending physician declared the victim deceased upon arrival.
His remains now rest at the hospital’s morgue awaiting further examination through autopsy procedures.
Authorities are actively pursuing leads to uncover the circumstances surrounding the tragic demise of this young police officer.
