National Theatre Pledges Support to Britain’s Got Talent Star Afronitaaa

The National Theatre of Ghana has pledged its support to talented dancer Afronitaaaa, who recently impressed judges and audiences alike at the Britain’s Got Talent auditions. Executive Director Amy Frimpong extended the theatre’s facilities and resources to help Afronitaaaa hone her skills and support other professionals in the performing arts sector.

“Our doors are open to as many professionals in the performing arts who are interested in our assistance to project their works. That is what the National Theatre does for Ghanaians,” Frimpong said.

The National Theatre, in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, hosted Afronitaaaa, whose real name is Danita Akosua Adoma, upon her return from the Britain’s Got Talent auditions. Afronitaaaa and her protégé, Abigail Adjiri, a hearing-impaired child, received a standing ovation from judges Simon Cowell, Amanda, and Bruno, as well as the audience, with their captivating performance.

The Minister-designate for Tourism, Arts, and Culture, Andrew Egyapa Mercer, commended Afronitaaaa on her bold decision to showcase her talents on the global stage with Abigail and pledged support for various stakeholders in the creative arts industry. Afronitaaaa expressed her gratitude, stating that performing on the world stage was a dream come true for her and Abigail.

Judge Bruno described their choreography as “world-class,” while Judge Amanda praised them as “two of the most fantastic dancers we have ever had on Britain’s Got Talent.” Judge Simon Cowell rated their performance as one of his “favourite auditions of the year.”

Afronitaaaa, a Level 300 student at the University of Ghana, has established her own dance academy and trains young dancers. The National Theatre’s support will undoubtedly help her continue to shine and inspire others in the performing arts sector.
