“GH₵5 and GH₵10 Offerings are an Insult to God and Me” – Pastor Obinim

A viral video has sparked intense debate within religious circles, showcasing Pastor Daniel Obinim, founder of the International God’s Way Church, rebuking his congregants for offering what he considers paltry sums of GH₵5 and GH₵10.

In the footage, Pastor Obinim expresses frustration and disapproval, labeling the offerings as disrespectful to both himself and God. He chastises the congregation for prioritizing their children over their contributions to the church, pointing out that they freely give more substantial amounts to their offspring but offer meager sums to God.

With a tone of indignation, Pastor Obinim declares that the congregation’s perceived stinginess has led to God abandoning them, making them vulnerable to various afflictions. He asserts that enough is enough and issues a directive to all church branches in Ghana to cease accepting offerings below GH₵20.

“The minimum acceptable contribution into the offertory bowl must be GH₵20 or higher,” Pastor Obinim emphasizes, advising those who cannot meet the new requirement to refrain from making offerings, as God prefers sincere prayers over meager contributions, understanding their financial limitations.

This move has sparked a heated debate, with some supporting Pastor Obinim’s stance against perceived disrespect towards God, while others criticize what they see as an attempt to extort larger sums from his followers.
