Calvary Charismatic Center (CCC), a Kumasi church, has pledged GHS 50,000 towards the renovation of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH).
Donation Presented During Church Service
Pastor Joshua Obeng, Resident Minister of CCC, presented a dummy cheque for GHS 50,000 to Mr. Sammy Adu Boakye, Chairman of the Heal Komfo Anokye Project (HeKAP), during the church’s third service on Sunday.
Motivation Behind the Donation
Pastor Obeng explained that CCC recognizes the urgent need for KATH’s renovation to improve its capacity to handle cases and referrals.
He emphasized the church’s commitment to social responsibility and its desire to contribute to the project led by Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
Gratitude for CCC’s Support
Mr. Adu Boakye expressed his appreciation for CCC’s generous donation and their commitment to the project. He highlighted the dedication of CCC’s General Overseer, Reverend Ransford Obeng, who serves on the project’s Advisory Board. Mr. Adu Boakye acknowledged that Reverend Obeng is the only church leader who regularly visits KATH to check on management and project leads.
“Your constant prayers motivate us greatly,” Mr. Adu Boakye stressed, “even without a financial contribution, your support would have been enough.”
Appeal to Other Churches
Mr. Adu Boakye used this opportunity to call upon other churches in Kumasi to emulate CCC’s generosity and donate to the renovation project. He pointed out the large number of churches in the city and emphasized how their combined contributions could significantly impact the project’s progress.
Nationwide Impact of KATH
Mr. Adu Boakye emphasized the nationwide importance of KATH, referencing the fact that the hospital serves patients referred from 12 out of Ghana’s 16 regions.
“We urge all well-meaning Ghanaians, especially churches in the Ashanti Region, to donate to the Heal KATH Project,” he concluded. “A successful project will benefit the entire nation, particularly those residing in Ashanti.”
