Akufo-Addo, Asantehene Launch Kumasi Airport Today

This afternoon, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, are scheduled to commission the newly constructed Kumasi International Airport, which will be named in honor of Nana Agyeman Prempeh I.

The commissioning of the airport marks a significant milestone in the country’s aviation development, aimed at alleviating air travel challenges from the northern and middle belt regions of Ghana. The new facility is expected to meet the growing demand for international air travel, providing a convenient and accessible gateway for both domestic and international passengers.

According to estimates, the Kumasi International Airport is expected to serve approximately 800,000 air passengers annually, boosting economic growth and development in the region.
