Just In: Cargo Plane Lands on Nose After Gear Malfunction

A cargo aircraft experienced a critical situation mid-flight on Wednesday, prompting an emergency landing at Istanbul Airport when its front landing gear malfunctioned.

Video footage circulating on social media depicted the Boeing 767, operated by FedEx Express, utilizing its rear landing gear before delicately lowering its nose with the front section of the fuselage.

According to reports from the state-run Anadolu Agency, the aircraft was in the final phase of its journey from Paris to Istanbul when the pilots detected the failure of the front landing gear to deploy.

Fortunately, there were no injuries reported, and the crew successfully evacuated the plane, as stated by Abdulkadir Uraloglu, Turkey’s transportation and infrastructure minister.

Meanwhile, authorities closed the runway to facilitate the safe removal of the aircraft.
