The wife of Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Lady Julia has expressed her ineffable admiration towards her husband’s remarkable achievements and legacy.
Speaking at a dinner party marking the Otumfuo’s 74th birthday, Lady Julia praised his accomplishments in peace-making, nation-building, development, education, health, and international diplomacy. “My dearest, I congratulate you on all your exemplary achievements. To say I am proud of you would be an understatement”.
Her Royal Highness, before the guests, reaffirmed and renewed her vows to stand by him through good times and difficult times. “Otumfuo, my love, I promise to continue to be your backbone, to stand with you in good times and in difficult times. I reaffirm the vow that I made to you when we first married, that I will be your peace and your sanctuary and I promise that the next 25 years will be filled with the goodness and love we shared thus far.”
The event, which marked Otumfuo’s 74th birthday, was attended by a distinguished gathering of dignitaries, including former First Lady Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings, Okyehene Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin, and Chief of Staff at the Presidency, Akosua Frema Osei Opare. The celebration featured performances by renowned artists, including Daughters of Glorious Jesus, Tagoe Sisters, and Amakye Dede.
