Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearer, has commended the strides made by the Akufo-Addo administration, highlighting significant enhancements in the quality of life for Ghanaians.

Despite recent economic challenges, Bawumia contrasts the present scenario with the era of former President John Dramani Mahama, citing notable improvements.

During his address, Bawumia recalls the hardships endured during Mahama’s tenure, including power outages (“dumsor”), escalating unemployment, tariff hikes, and educational and healthcare setbacks. He asserts that data unequivocally supports the claim of improved living conditions under the current administration.

Bawumia underscores the government’s implementation of various policies aimed at mitigating citizens’ suffering. Notably, the reinstatement of teacher and nursing training allowances, alongside job creation initiatives, has been highlighted as pivotal achievements.

Furthermore, Bawumia cites a substantial increase in Ghana’s per capita income from GH¢7,756 in 2016 to GH¢19,464 by 2022, demonstrating tangible economic progress under the NPP’s governance.
