Ghanaian Musician Deborah Vanessa, aka Sister Derby has clarified her reasons for joining her ex-boyfriend Medikal on stage at his recent Indigo 02 Arena Concert.
In a recent interview, Sister Derby explained that her appearance was solely to show support for her colleague and friend.
“I didn’t intend to cause any controversy. I simply wanted to support my friend and sweet ex. He invited me to perform, and I didn’t see any issue with it since we’ve collaborated on music before and remain friends,” she stated.
Sister Derby expressed confusion over the backlash she received for her performance, considering she has shared the stage with Medikal on previous occasions.
“We’ve performed together after our breakup at Sowutuom and also did ‘Cold and Trophies’. So why the fuss now? We’ve never had any issues or exchanged harsh words. With that song, I was just sharing my side of the story with my fans. I never attacked or jabbed him or Fella Makafui,” she clarified.
Sister Derby’s appearance on stage with Medikal was met with a mix of surprise and criticism from fans and observers, with some accusing her of trying to stir up drama or cause tension with Medikal’s current partner, Fella Makafui.
