The incident occurred during last weekend’s 2-2 draw at West Ham, when Salah, visibly frustrated, clashed with Klopp while waiting to be subbed in. He later refused post-game interviews, hinting at potential tension.
However, speaking on Friday, Klopp dismissed the incident as a “non-story” and emphasized their strong working relationship.
“There’s no problem. We are absolutely fine with it,” he stated.
Klopp, who previously announced his departure at season’s end, had started Salah on the bench, introducing him in the 79th minute. The timing coincided with West Ham’s equalizer, further fueling Salah’s frustration.
“We have the right to deal with these things internally,” Klopp added, highlighting their mutual respect built over a long period.
He acknowledged that ideal circumstances might have prevented the incident, but ultimately linked it to the team’s performance.
“The best situation would be everyone performing well, winning games, and scoring goals. Then Mo wouldn’t have been on the bench in the first place,” he concluded.
