Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has magnified God for the impact and influence his reign has had on Asanteman, Ghana and the world in past 25 years.
Speaking at his non-denominational Thanksgiving Service on April 26, 2024 at the Manhyia Palace, he stated, “To God be the glory.”
“How do I express my appreciation to God? I am not here in my own capacity. I give him all the credit and praise. He ordained the Golden Stool and chose me to lead in this time…If the day has come to mark my 25th Anniversary, God can’t be excluded.”
He recalled how he swore to be honest and firm in his dealings 25 years ago and said he had done just that through the grace of God, the prayers of clergymen, and the assistance of people around him: Asantehemaa Nana Konadu Yiadom III, his cousins, sisters, his wife, children and grandchildren, royals in the Kingdom, courtiers, and the traditional authorities.
Highlighting the contribution of clergymen to his reign, His Majesty urged them to persist with their prayers for him, saying, “A lot is ahead. We don’t know what the ages ahead hold but with your prayers, I will be able to overcome all evil.”
