Ghanaian Reggae Dancehall sensation, Shatta Wale, has rebuffed calls for an apology from the Ghana Society of Physically Disabled (GSPD) after his recent remarks targeting Stonebwoy’s disability.
Despite demands from the GSPD for an apology and retraction of his statements following his mockery of Stonebwoy during the Salah festivities, Shatta Wale remains defiant.
In a widely circulated video addressing the society’s demands, Shatta Wale not only declined to comply but also questioned the intentions behind their request.
Asserting his self-perceived status, the ‘Ayoo’ hitmaker declared, “You can’t create a problem for me, I am a problem myself.” He further criticized the society’s call, citing the existence of various associations, including one for the unemployed.
In response to the GSPD’s warning and demand for an apology, Shatta Wale remains unmoved. The society had cautioned him, citing the Disability Act 715, and emphasized the seriousness of making derogatory remarks about disabilities.
Expressing disappointment in Shatta Wale’s behavior, the GSPD labeled his remarks as “primitive” and called for condemnation from the public.
Issuing a stern ultimatum, the society gave Shatta Wale seven days to retract his statements and apologize, warning of legal repercussions if ignored.
