The owner of Asante Kotoko, His Royal Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has expressed strong dissatisfaction with the team’s recent poor performances. During a meeting with the team at Manyhia on Thursday, April 18, Otumfuo emphasized that he would not tolerate continued underperformance and threatened to disband the team to prevent relegation.
“I will personally intervene and request the Ghana Football Association to dissolve Kotoko if necessary to prevent the club from facing relegation,” remarked His Royal Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
This stern warning from Otumfuo follows Asante Kotoko’s disappointing results in their last seven games, where they suffered six defeats and managed only one draw. Consequently, the Porcupine Warriors find themselves in a precarious position, with just three points separating them from the relegation zone.
In an upcoming Week 27 fixture against Samartex FC this weekend at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, the Kumasi-based club faces a critical challenge. Ahead of the match, Otumfuo has urged the team to deliver a victory and turn their fortunes around.
