Ashanti Warrior Presents Featherweight Title To Otumfuo
Ghanaian boxing sensation Stanley Nyantakyi has presented his second career title to the Overlord of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
The LBO Featherweight Champion won his first national title and his second professional title last week in a four-round bout against Accra Champion Emmanuel Quartey.
Leading him and his management team, the Osibo Boxing Management and Promotion, to the Occupant of the Golden Stool on April 8, 2024, was Hemanhene Nana Apau Wiafe Ababio Sanwoansan who on his behalf informed Otumfuo about the outcome of the bout.
At the behest of His Majesty, the proud Asante boxer presented his belt to him as Otumfuo used the occasion to re-echo his earlier advice to the young man.
Nyantakyi upon winning the LBO featherweight title after defeating Togo’s Komlangan Hounkpati presented the belt to Asantehene during the second Akwasidae festival of 2024.
During that encounter, he received the King’s blessings and further successfully sought the permission of the Palace to incorporate his bout in the series of events slated for the 25th Anniversary of the King.
The bout took place on April 2, 2024, at the SG Mall in Kumasi during which he stood tall in an emphatic win over Quartey.
His consistent and powerful jabs compelled the Accra Champion to throw in the towel in the early minutes of the fourth round.
Nyantakyi now has his eyes on international titles but has served his preparedness for anyone who may want to challenge his current titles.
After inflicting defeat on Quartey, he disclosed, “I now look forward to WBO or IBF Africa and after that, I set into world stage titles.”
