A solemn Easter service at a Roman Catholic Church in the Ashanti Region turned into tragedy after a swarm of bees attacked the congregation, leaving one person dead and several injured.
The incident occurred on Good Friday at the church in Owuoso, a suburb of Asante Agona.
While worshippers attended the Easter Mass, bees suddenly swarmed the church, stinging multiple people and causing chaos.
In the ensuing panic, churchgoers scrambled to escape the relentless bee stings.
The injured were rushed to the hospital, where one man was unfortunately pronounced dead.
The cause of the bee attack remains unclear.
While the church is located in a bushy area, witnesses expressed confusion about what provoked the bees’ aggression.
