Asanteman Council Breaks For Easter Holidays

The Asanteman Council has adjourned sittings to make way for the Easter holidays which begin on Friday.

In his closing remarks during the council’s sittings on March 28, 2024, Otumfuo charged feuding parties with their cases before the council to exercise restraint and strive to uphold peace until the council reconvenes and takes up their cases.

He assured all parties whose cases are pending before his court of the needed diligence in investigating and resolving them amicably.

“For now, we are going to commemorate Easter, which is the resurrection of Christ. We will come back to all pending cases after the enjoyment.”

“Let peace reign in all corners of Asanteman. I don’t want to hear of disturbances here and there. Don’t put authority into your own hands and act. No matter the magnitude of the case and how long it takes, rest assured that the truth will prevail. Be patient.”

Delivering his well wishes to the traditional authorities ahead of the Easter festival, His Majesty said the fact that the festival coincides with the third Akwasidae festival makes it a special one.

He charged Nananom to perform all necessary rites for stools in accordance with tradition.

“I wish you all a happy Easter,” he concluded adjourning the sittings sine dines.

Though there is expectation of considerable delay until the next meeting of the council, Nananom will join the King in various activities slated for the 25th Enstoolment Anniversary.
