Akufo-Addo Fires Birim Central MCE

The appointment of Madam Victoria Adu as the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the Birim Central Municipal Assembly has been revoked by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
She has been directed to transfer her responsibilities to the Regional Minister, who will oversee the Municipal Assembly until a new MCE is confirmed and nominated.


The President’s letter of appreciation for Madam Adu’s service during her term was signed by Minister of State O.B. Amoah and detailed the transition process.


“I wish to inform you that, in accordance with Article 243 (3) (b) of the Constitution and Section 20 (3) (b) of the Local Governance Act 2016 (Act 936), His Excellency the President of the Republic has revoked your appointment as Municipal Chief Executive.

“Consequently, you are to hand over your duties to the Hon. Regional Minister who will exercise oversight responsibility of the Municipal Assembly until the confirmation of a new Municipal Chief Executive. A copy of this letter is being sent to the Hon. Regional Minister, requesting that he assume oversight of the Municipal Assembly while the appointment of a new Municipal Chief Executive is being confirmed.
