The Asokwa District Court in the Ashanti Region has for the third time remanded the three persons standing trial for their alleged involvement in the killing of Ibrahim Muhammed, also known as Kaaka at Ejura.
The three persons are Issaka Ibrahim, Fuseni Alhassan, and the elder brother of the deceased, Iddi Mohammed.
They were charged with conspiracy to commit crime and murder.
The court, during the first hearing on July 2, 2021, remanded the three accused persons.
They were remanded for the second time on July 22 during their second court appearance to allow prosecutors enough time to conduct investigations into the matter.
During the third hearing on Thursday, August 12, 2021, the three accused persons were however not present in court.
The court ruled that they should be remanded.
They are expected to reappear before the court on September 7. The prosecutor, Chief Supt. Kofi Blagodzi explained the decision to the media.
“The case has been adjourned to 7th September. The duplicated docket has been forwarded to the Attorney-General’s office, to make their input, peruse the docket and advise accordingly. It is unfortunate that the trial couldn’t wait, so the case had to be adjourned.”
The accused persons have been slapped with two charges; conspiracy to commit crime and murder.
Meanwhile, the family of the late Kaaka has been calling for justice to be served in the matter.
